Praise God, I have great news. After years of waiting and dozens of “No’s,” I have just received our first “Yes” from the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Thursday afternoon of last week, I received a call from our media buyer. She said TBN had called and asked if I would accept a Monday morning, once a week, timeslot to air the Gospel Truth television program. I learned from her that Paul Crouch himself had made the offer.
I have been believing God and expecting this door to open for several years. I had made the decision that when the opportunity came, I would accept it. And I have done just that. Our first program will air Monday, June 2 at 1:30 p.m., Eastern; 12:30 p.m., Central; 11:30 a.m., Mountain; and 10:30 a.m., Pacific. This is a major breakthrough!
Praise God, His leadership through the Spirit is always on time. Six months ago I began discussing with my staff what it would take to produce a weekly television program. My primary motivation was the hope that TBN would accept a weekly program, since they had consistently rejected our daily program. This is exactly what has happened. In fact, the pilot for the weekly program was completed the same day we got this call. How is that for Holy Ghost timing!
The weekly program is a completely different format than what you are used to watching on our daily show. It required a whole new process for production and the installation of additional new editing equipment. All of this was in process when we received the call. However, for the first couple of weeks on TBN, we will be airing an edited version of one of our regular programs.
As you can imagine, the cost of broadcasting on TBN is huge. The weekly program will cost $12,941 for one thirty minute program. That does not include production costs or the increase in personnel needed to man the phone lines and fulfill the orders. And most importantly, I believe this is just a steppingstone.
Now that we have our foot in the door, I fully expect to be given a slot for a daily program before long. This is the break I’ve been looking for. TBN reaches nearly as many people as all our current domestic networks and stations combined. This will nearly double the number of U.S. households that we reach with the Gospel Truth. Hallelujah!
As I have written before, the cost of broadcasting a daily program on TBN is in excess of $180,000 per month. As a rule of thumb, whatever the broadcast costs, it will take that much again to provide the staff and equipment necessary to serve those responding. So, in addition to the costs of this weekly program, I anticipate an additional monthly cost of around $360,000 per month for the daily broadcast.
I know these numbers seem huge, and they are. However, the TBN audience that we will reach is also huge. The Lord has called me to deliver His nearly-too-good-to-be-true news to His body, and I believe with all of my heart that this opportunity is directly from God.
If you have ever thought of helping me get this nearly-too-good-to-be-true news to our generation, now is the time to act. We have reserved enough money to fund this weekly program for about six months. My experience is that it can take up to a year for the viewers to fully support the broadcasts. Until that time, those who have already been touched through this ministry will have to help us reach out to others.
And I can’t overemphasize that I believe this weekly broadcast is a steppingstone to a daily program. We need to start saving for that NOW! Will you help me? I am asking you to prayerfully consider helping us fund this great opportunity.
If you aren’t already a monthly partner with us, please consider becoming one. Most people will be able to provide more help financially over a year’s time by their monthly giving than they can afford to give at one time. Whatever you feel led to do will be a blessing.

On behalf of all the people whose lives will be radically changed because of you, Jamie and I want to say THANK YOU! Without you, none of this would be possible.
We love you,
P.S. Do you remember when you first heard this message? Someone else made that possible with their gift. It’s like the great missionary William Carey said, “I’m willing to climb down the cliff, but I need you to hold the rope.” It will take all of us to reach the U.S. with this life-changing Gospel. Only eternity will reveal the total impact of our daily programs on the lives of people and our society as a whole.
